The Peak Season in Socotra is between October and April. It is characterized by cooler weather and calmer oceans. Making this a perfect season to spend on both the beaches and in the mountains. Hiking through the mountains you will see birds, reptiles and flora you can’t find anywhere else. 

DAY 1

Arrival and Homhill Natural Pool 

Morning:

Arrive at Socotra International Airport and meet your guide. Head to Hadiboh for a traditional Socotri lunch (Potentially with the guide's family). 

Afternoon:

Drive into Homhill’s natural garden, surrounded by Dragon’s Blood Trees, Bottle Trees, and other endemic flora. Enjoy a short hike (20-30 min) to Homhill’s natural infinity pool, enjoy a refreshing dip overlooking the ocean. 

Evening:

Enjoy the sunset over this garden paradise and camp in this natural garden. 

DAY 2

Hoq Cave and Arher

Morning:
Enjoy sunrise, breakfast and one final dip in the infinity pool before heading off to Hoq cave. 

Afternoon:
Embark on an adventurous hike up to Hoq Cave, famous for ancient stalactites and inscriptions. Explore its mystical depths and shade from the sun. The hike should take between 1-2 hours depending on how fast you want to do it. 

Evening:
Head to Arher where camp and dinner will be set up on the beach under towering cliffs and sand dunes. Then drift off to sleep with the sound of waves lapping on the shore. 

DAY 3

Ras Erisal and Kalysan

Morning:
Enjoy the morning at Arher beach, you can take a dip in the ocean, try your hand at fishing the local way and rinse off in the spring that runs into the ocean. Then visit Ras Erisal, the point where the Arabian Sea meets the Indian Ocean.

Afternoon:
Continue to Kalysan Canyon, featuring natural swimming pools and waterfalls. Swim and relax amidst stunning canyon walls.

Evening:
Return to Arher for dinner and to camp along the beach.

DAY 4

Diksam Plateau and Firmihin Forest

Morning:
Ascend to Diksam Plateau to marvel at panoramic views of Dragon’s Blood Trees dotting limestone landscapes.

Afternoon:
Descend into Wadi Dirhur, Socotra's deepest canyon. Swim in freshwater pools surrounded by Bottle Trees. Later visit Firmihin Forest, home to the densest concentration of Dragon’s Blood Trees.

Evening:
Camp amidst the surreal trails of Firmihin Forest.

DAY 5

Zaheq Sand Dunes and Aomok Beach

Morning:
Take a morning dip at Aomok beach where the Indian ocean meets white sand. Then escape the heat of the day at Dagub cave, the cool ocean breeze, dripping stalactites and small tunnels make it the perfect spot for lunch.

Afternoon:
Visit Zaheq Sand Dunes for a surreal desert experience. Witness the contrast of golden sands against blue skies.

Evening:
Head back to Aomok Beach for swimming and relaxation on pristine shores. Camp at Aomok Beach, enjoying a sunset over the Indian Ocean.

DAY 6

Qalensiyah and Detwah Lagoon

Morning:

Travel to Qalensiyah. Enjoy the pristine sandy beaches of Detwah and calm blue waters.

Afternoon:
Enjoy Detwah Lagoon, known for its vibrant marine ecosystem and epic sunset views. Hike up to the top of the lookout for stunning views or pay a visit to the cave man that lives off what the ocean provides.

Evening:
Camp at Detwah Lagoon.

DAY 7

Shoab & Return to Hadiboh

Morning:

Take a boat trip to Shoab Beach, escorted by playful dolphins along towering cliffs. Enjoy swimming and sunbathing on this secluded beach paradise.

Afternoon:
Unwind on Shoab Beach, swimming and relaxing.

Evening:
Return to Hadiboh for dinner at a local restaurant and the final night in one of the local hotels.

Day 8: Departure from Hadiboh

Morning (WC): Pack up and if there is time enjoy last-minute exploration or shopping for local handicrafts.

Afternoon (WC): Depart from Socotra International Airport on to your next adventure.

The itinerary balances adventure with efficient travel between key highlights of Socotra Island. The order of locations and activities may vary depending on weather conditions and local logistics. Your safety and comfort are our top priorities, and we appreciate your flexibility.

This tour is all-inclusive, covering all major expenses including flights, visas, meals, and camping equipment.

  • All meals will be prepared and served by the Wonders of Yemen team or trusted restaurants, ensuring you’re well taken care of throughout the journey.

Camping gear includes all essentials: tents, sleeping bags, cooking equipment, and ample water supplies, as infrastructure on the island is limited.

  • If you prefer not to camp, the itinerary can be adjusted for hotel or guesthouse accommodation in Hadiboh, with day trips arranged accordingly.
